Another year, another Dorkfest. Mr. Grierson and I wrapped up our yearly ritual around 1:37 a.m. Eastern time last night. We had fewer list crossovers this year, because Grierson was more wrong than he usually is.

This was the 19th Dorkfest — we began in 1992, discussing 1991’s movies: We both had “JFK” No. 1 that year — and it’s possible we might have to adjust next year’s. The reason we always do Dorkfest the day before Oscar nominations come out is because back in Mattoon, you needed an extra month into the new year to catch up on all the movies for your top ten that hadn’t come out yet. Next year, though, Tim and I will both be expected to have seen everything by the end of the year for the new Yahoo site — which is launching very, very soon — which means we might know each other’s top tens before the annual night of Dorkfest. That this is of such concern for us might have something to do with why Daulerio came up with the “Dorkfest” in the first place.

Anyway, here’s 2008’s Dorkfest, and here’s 2009’s. Now, Grierson’s and Leitch’s top 10 films of 2010.
