Mattoon, Illinois makes its Yankee Stadium debut.
(Mattoon’s own Kyle Hudson led off — and flew out — for the Orioles against the Yankees today. He’s 0-for-4, still looking for his first Major League hit. He’s the first Mattoon-born player to make the Majors in almost 100 years.)
UPDATE: He singled in the third inning. Congratulations, Kyle. The city of Mattoon is now batting .037 lifetime in the Bigs after Hudson’s 1-for-5 performance.
